Map Showing Easement Parcels <br />Obtained for Northern Buckhorn <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Craig Benedict, Planning Director, 245- <br />2592 <br />Kevin Lindley, PE, Staff Engineer, 245- <br />2583 <br />John Roberts, County Attorney, 245-2318 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approval of the private easement agreements required to construct <br />and maintain the Central Efland and Northern Buckhorn sewer extensions. <br />BACKGROUND: The County has been working towards construction of an extension to the <br />Efland sewer system and an extension of the City of Mebane's sewer system into the Northern <br />Buckhorn community for several years. The permit for the project has been obtained and <br />advertising the project for construction bids has begun. <br />The County has obtained several construction and maintenance easement agreements for the <br />sewer lines that need to be installed as part of this project. The parcels on which these <br />easements are located can be seen in Attachments 1 and 2. fn order for these agreements to <br />be completed, the BOCC has to approve them and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the <br />County. These easements will then be recorded at the Register of Deeds. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The connection consideration and other compensation given in <br />exchange for these easements has been discussed and approved by the BOCC at a previous <br />meeting. The funds necessary are currently available in the capital project account for this <br />project. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve and authorize the <br />Chair to sign on behalf of the Board the private easement agreements needed to construct the <br />Efland and Buckhorn sewer extensions. <br />
