The proposal stated interest and concern for meeting health standards and gave a <br />detailed explanation of spill management. Brooks gave a detailed description of its current <br />collection practices assuring all foods and liquids would be captured in the collection vehicle. <br />The proposal outlined a detailed description of the composting process and the end product <br />produced by the organic waste. The proposal of $80 per ton is the same price of the current <br />agreement and has remained the same for the past three years. The RFP stated that food and <br />organic waste collection at the County's schools was of interest to the Solid Waste Department <br />and the County, and Brooks highlighted its willingness to start this program and how important a <br />program like this would be for the community. <br />Judy D. Brooks Contractor, Inc. (DBA, Brooks Contractor) of Goldston, North Carolina is a <br />provider of food and organic waste collection and composting services. Brooks Contractor has <br />provided food and organic waste collection and composting services to Orange County since <br />2000 and currently service 70 locations in addition to the County's.
