WHEREAS, community support of the United Way has really made the difference in the lives of those in Orange County <br />who really need help; and <br />WHEREAS, it is evident that Orange County is a caring community, much like a family; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, we the undersigned proclaim September to be United Way month in Orange County and urge <br />citizens to join in and actively participate in the United Way campaign and all of its activities to continue making a <br />difference in the lives of Orange County citizens. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />6. Minutes <br />This item was removed and placed at the end of the Consent Agenda. <br />b. Change in Meeting Schedule <br />The Board approved adding a joint meeting with OWASA September 2, 1999, and a joint meeting with the <br />Town of Hillsborough September 8, 1999, to its regular meeting calendar. <br />C. Purchase of Defibrillators for Orange County EMS <br />The Board awarded a contract for purchase of two monitor/defibrillators to Physio Control Corporation at a <br />cost of $15,992 each. <br />d. Chapel Hill-Orange County Visitors Bureau Revised Bylaws <br />The Board approved a revision in the bylaws of the Chapel Hill-Orange County Visitors Bureau to reflect its <br />status as a County department. <br />e.
