68 <br /> Shane Bergin,. PE <br /> Professional History <br />Education Mr. Bergin has significant experience in debris management and civil engineering design that includes <br />Bachelor of Science, utility and transportation design and construction administration services. Mr. Bergin has extensive <br />'2002, Civil Engineering,' debris removal data management experience including numerous debris projects related to Hurricanes <br />` Auburn University Ike and Katrina. Mr. Bergin's experience also includes preparation of stomtwater calculations, <br /> implementation of land codes, and permit applications. Mr. Bergin has provided assistance to Project <br />Master of science, , Managers on various roadway, drainage and utility projects. <br />2004, Civil Engineering, ; <br />Auburn university Related Experience: <br />Registration ` - Hun-icane Ike Data Management: Assisted with data management and quality control for <br />Professional. Engineer, numerous Hurricane Ike debris removal projects. These projects included City of La Porte debris <br />Mississippi, 1sas7 removal and Texas General Land Office beach cleaning for 80 miles of beach and marine debris <br />Alabama, 29113-E ` removal from the Gulf of Mexico, Galveston Bay, and four other bays in the upper Texas coast <br />Associations Jackson County Debris Removal: Responsible for the processing of debris tickets on a daily <br />Deep. south': Institute of basis. The data from each ticket was entered into the Microsoft Excel worksheets, separated by <br />Transportation Engineers ` contractor and dump location. Each data set went through a system of checks and balances, <br /> making. sure that the capacity was calculated correctly, that the truck number and capaaty match <br /> the truck certifications, and that all tickets were included. At the end of each day, a package was <br /> prepared for the County including a list of all tickets processed for the day, a summary of each <br /> contractors dump location, and a summary of all tickets to date. The information was presented to <br /> the County the following morning with a daily operations report that summarized the previous days <br /> activities and estimated the load for the day. <br /> • Hurricane Katrina, City of Biloxi, MS Debris Removal: Neel-Schaffer was contacted by the City <br /> of Biloxi to provide support following Hurricane Katrina. The City requested assistance wish the <br /> debris clean-up effort. Responsible for the north side of Biloxi working as a field cooniinator for the <br /> City. Supervised more than 20 personnel who acted as debris monitors and various other positions. <br /> Trained new individuals on the job site as debris removal monitors, debris estimators and tower <br /> operators. Acted as the contact person between the City and the contractor. Determined when the <br /> contractor was officially completed with each pass of debris removal. <br /> Hurricane Katrina, City of Biloxi, MS Damage Assessment: Neel-Schaffer was contacted by <br /> the City of Biloxi to provide assistance with the damage assessment of all roadways within the <br /> incorporated limits of the City. Responsible for gathering all field data and incorporating them into <br /> a report document that was submitted to FEMA. The report included a description of the damaged <br /> facility, location, scope of work, and a cost estimate. <br /> Hurricane Katrina, Harrison County, MS Emergency Traffic Operations: Neel-Schaffer <br /> was contacted by Gulf Regional Planning Commission to provide assistance with the Harrison <br /> County Emergency Traffic Operations. GRPC requested that Neel chaffer assess roadways <br /> and intersections that the Transportation Task Force identified as traffic congestion problems. <br /> Responsible for analyzing the field data that included current geometries, signal timings, and traffic <br /> counts to determine the current operating delays.
