ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: June 7, 2011 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. _ 5-Ca <br />SUBJECT: Declaring Two Pieces of Landfill Equipment Surplus <br />DEPARTMENT: Asset Management Services PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />(AMS) and Solid Waste <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Pam Jones, AMS, 245-2652 <br />Gayle Wilson, Solid Waste, 968-2788 <br />PURPOSE: To consider declaring two pieces of heavy landfill equipment as surplus. <br />BACKGROUND: The Director of Asset Management Services is authorized to declare items <br />surplus up to $5,000. Currently the Landfill has two pieces of equipment that are no longer <br />needed and therefore need to be sold. It is anticipated both will exceed the $5,000 threshold. <br />ITEM SERIAL NUMBER <br />2002 CASE CX 210 EXCAVATOR DAC0721287 <br />1998 TD15E LT DRESSER DOZER 31150 <br />The heavy equipment was primarily utilized during the construction of both landfills and is no <br />longer utilized. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Proceeds from the sale of these items, less any applicable fees, will be <br />returned to the Solid Waste Operation budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: 1) declare the items <br />surplus; and 2) authorize the AMS Director to effect the sale of the items through GovDeals. <br />
