Year-To-Date Budget <br />Summary <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clarence Grier, (919) 245-2453 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2010- <br />11. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Orange Public Transportation <br />Orange Public Transportation has received notification of the receipt of Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant funds of $9,146 from the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation related to the Hillsborough In-town bus route, as <br />approved by the Board of County Commissioners on September 21, 2010. The in-town <br />bus route is scheduled to begin on June 6, 2011. This budget amendment provides for <br />the receipt of these grant funds for FY 2010-11. (See Attachment 1, Column 1) <br />Department of Social Services <br />2. The Department of Social Services has received additional Work First transportation <br />funds totaling $8,874 from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. These <br />funds will be used to offset operational costs of administering the Wheels-to-Work <br />vehicle procurement and repair program. This program was previously operated by <br />Orange Public Transportation until FY 2009-10. This budget amendment provides for <br />the receipt of these funds. for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, Column 2) <br />Visitor's Bureau Fund <br />3. The Visitors Bureau requests an appropriation of $20,000 from available fund balance <br />of the Visitors Bureau Fund to cover unanticipated advertising and marketing funds <br />expensed during the current fiscal year.
