172 <br />Schoolhouse Road Project <br />Wetland Delineations <br />Ormige County, North r l in <br />March 2011 <br />Purpose <br />The Cate a Group (TCG) was contracted by Habitat for Humanity to conduct etland <br />delineations for the future site of a Habitat for Humanity single - family development at <br />the intersection of Schoolhouse Toad and Tinnin Road in Orange County, North <br />Carolina. The purpose of this investigation was to e Amin the location and extent of <br />wetlands subject to protection under Section 404 of the Gleam Water Act. Surface water <br />(strewn) determinations were not part of this investigation. <br />2.0 Project Description <br />The study site is approximately nine acres located at the intersection of Selioolh se <br />Road (SR 1314) and Tin in Road (SR 1 1 in Orange County, North Carolina. The <br />study site is comprised of Uvo parcels. The souther n parcel is 2.936 acres and has a <br />Property Identification Number er (PIN) of 9844-49-3706. The northern parcel is 6.048 <br />acres with a PIN of 9845-40-5022. <br />3.0 Methodologies <br />TCG was provided with maps depicting the study site. Additional mapping resources <br />used in this investigation include the most recent Unite d States Geologic Sill -Vey USGS <br />7.5-minute top graphic quadrangle map (Nofth West Dtirliam quadrangle), National <br />Wetland Inventory (NWI) mapping, and the United States Depati ent of Agriculture <br />(USDA) Web Soil Survey. <br />TCG conducted the field investigations on March 18, 2011 under sunny weather <br />conditions. All drainage features and potentiat wetland areas were evaluated to <br />determine if they met the criteria for jurisdi tional N- ctland status. <br />JUris ietional delineations H ere performed using the three-parameter approach as <br />resori ed in the. 1987 US 4rmy Coip.y of Engineers U8,4C E) Wetlands Delineation <br />Manual Environmental Laboratory 1987). The Draft Interim Regional ional Supple me t for <br />Eastern Mountains and Pl dniont Region describing the parameters of h drophytie <br />vegetation, hydric soils, and hydrological indicators was also utilized. The US ACE <br />wetland determination forin-Eastern Mou tahis and Piedmont (DRAFT) was completed <br />for• the wetfiand system (Appendix 11). <br />Wetland boundaries were marked with pink and black striped flagging, All flags Nvere, <br />surveyed using a hand -hold G S unit with sub-meter accuracy. <br />Schoolhouse Road Project March 2011 <br />TCG Job# 113 <br />
