Clifton, Jr., have been meeting to discuss the financial implications of the program. The <br /> elected officials group reviewed numerous financial scenarios to determine the cost-sharing <br /> arrangement associated with the transit project between Orange and Durham Counties. Planning <br /> staffs were charged with providing elected officials with technical information necessary to reach <br /> the decision (attachments 1, 2, 3,4). <br /> A draft Bus and Rail Investment Plan was developed for Orange and Durham Counties <br /> (attachment 5). The plan and approval schedule were presented at the Durham-Chapel Hill- <br /> Carrboro Transportation Advisory Committee (DCHC TAC)meeting on May 11, 2011. After <br /> receiving and discussing the presentation, TAC members made a motion to release the draft <br /> financial plan for public comments. The public will have 30 days to review and comment on the <br /> plan. DCHC TAC is scheduled to approve the plan on June 8, 2011. Our schedule is tentative but <br /> Orange County BOCC may be expected to review the plan on June 7, 2011, adopt the plan and <br /> decide on 1/2 cent sales tax referendum on June 21, 2011 (attachment 6). <br /> The Board can discuss the plan and schedule details at its May 26 budget work session if it so <br />
