39 <br />tinge, the BOCC confirmed their desire to implement a grant program using the County's <br />general fund to directly subsidize eligible applicants the costs associated with the <br />installation of laterals, availability fees, and meter fees. <br />February 5, 2002 <br />The BOCC approved the Assistance Policy for the Rogers Road Waterline Connection <br />Program. This policy offered grants for waterline connections for households with <br />incomes below 80% of the area median income. The income limits at that time are listed <br />below. <br />y`,i;. Also, a community meeting was held <br />on April 8, 2002 at the Faith Tabernacle Church to explain the program and on Saturday, <br />May 18a' OCHCD staff was on site that afternoon in an effort to make it easier for <br />residents to apply for the program. <br />*Note: The County Engineer reported that there were 114 parcels with 96 habitable <br />structures located in the community /project area. <br />June 18.2002 <br />Housing and Community Development staff provided the BOCC with a Status Report on <br />the Waterline Connection Program. At that time,-the total number of applicants was 36 <br />representing about 38% of the habitable structures on the associated project map. Of <br />these, 26 or 72% were eligible for assistance with connection fees. At that time, five (5) <br />property owners had chosen to pay the connections fees themselves. <br />May 20, 2003 <br />A second Status Report was presented to the BOCC on this date. At that time, a total of <br />45 applications had been received representing about 47% of the total number of <br />
