17 <br />Attachment D <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: May 1, 2008 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 3-e.— <br />SUBJECT: Rogers Road Community Enhancement- Task Force - Recommendations <br />DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste Management PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Recommended Enhancements <br />Recommended Historic Rogers Road Gayle Wilson, 968 -2885 <br />Enhancement Area Map <br />PURPOSE: To present for Board of County Commissioners' consideration the Historic Rogers <br />Road Community Enhancement Plan Development and Monitoring Task Force's recommended <br />Historic -Rogers Road Enhancement Area Map delineation and list of proposed community <br />enhancements. <br />BACKGROUND: At the May 3, 2007 BOCC meeting the BOCC created the Historic Rogers <br />Road Community Enhancement Plan Development and. Monitoring Task Force. The purpose of <br />the Task Force was to develop and forward to the Orange County Board of Commissioners a <br />proposed plan, including financing options, for enhancements in the historic Rogers Road <br />Community. The Task Force was also charged with recommending the geographical <br />size /parameters of the Historic Rogers Road community, for which the recommended <br />enhancements would be provided <br />The Task Force has met seven times, with the first meeting held on June 6 and the most recent <br />meeting on November 12. A June 26, 2007 interim report was provided. At the September 12 <br />Task Force meeting the attached map was adopted by consensus and is being recommended <br />to the BOCC for consideration. At the November 12 meeting the Task Force adopted a final list <br />of community enhancement recommendations. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There will be a substantial financial impact related to implementation of <br />many of the Task Force's. community enhancement recommendations. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the Historic <br />Rogers Road Task Force's Recommended Historic Rogers Road Enhancements and Area <br />Map. <br />
