both the Town and the County. This has been the practice for a number of years, and recently
it became a component of the agreement between the Town and the County.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The proposed agreement renewal is for the same amount as last year
and it will provide revenue to the County of $83,818 for FY2011-2012. That amount is $8,818
higher than the service fee for the FY 2009-2010 agreement, which did not cover indirect costs
like more recent agreements. The fee for the proposed agreement was determined by Animal
Services and Financial Services on the basis of a careful assessment of all costs involved in
delivery of field services to the Town of Chapel Hill.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the agreement
renewal and authorize the Chair to sign the agreement with the Town of Chapel Hill subject to
final approval of the County's FY 2011-2012 budget.
