Agenda Automation Attachment B
Functional Gaps in Current Commercial Agenda
Automation Solutions
Preliminary Findings
May 3, 2011
Information Technologies
Background
A group of County staff from Information Technologies, the Manager's Office and the
Clerk's Office have been reviewing software requirements for Agenda Automation. The
group has also participated in several detailed vendor demonstrations. At this group's
request, vendors tailored their demonstrations around the list of functional requirements
generated by the group.
The research to date has shown there are several promising software solutions that will
meet many of the requirements we have presented. However, there remain some areas
where these requirements may be met, but not in a satisfying fashion.
Although this research continues, and a complete solution may yet emerge, we wanted to
give you preliminary fmdings.
Navigation Layouts
We anticipate the Board and the public will want a hyperlinked outline of a meeting
agenda in a persistent window within the computer screen, while the item being presently
reviewed will show in the main body of the window, as mocked up below:
17
BOCC Meeting May 10, 2011 Page 1
