Employee Survey Results <br />April 2011 <br />If l had my choice Orange County should work with Durham City and County, Wake <br />City and County, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill and Carrboro and agree to accept the <br />best plan coverage and price as an conglomerate and have bids submitted for there <br />health coverage. I believe this could work. if I had to choose from above it would be <br />choices 3 or 4 but there is not enough information to feel comfortable about my <br />decision. <br />11. Orange County provides lifetime health coverage for retirees who have 10 <br />years of service with Orange County. Change for incoming new employees so <br />they can gauge the total OC benefit package with other potential employers. <br />It is one of the main reasons l and many other county employees have stayed with <br />the County over the years. It is the most important and valuable benefit that anybody <br />who retires with the county and is vested receives. It has been promised for those <br />that have been working for the county long enough to be vested and needs to be <br />honored by the county. The county needs to consider requiring employees to work at <br />least 15 years to be vested and there is nothing unreasonable about that when you <br />consider the investment. <br />15 <br />
