Susan Levy, the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, said that Habitat <br />far Humanity has used HOME and CDBG funds in the Phoenix Place <br />subdivision which houses many UNC employees. <br />S. Robert Dowling, the Executive Director of the Community Hame Trust, <br />thanked the Council for its support of the Community Home Trust and asked <br />the Council for its continued support this year. <br />9. A Council Member said that there is a greater need throughout the Town, but <br />less Federal money, so deciding how to use the funds will be a difficult <br />decision. <br />10. Terry Allebaugh, the Executive Director of Hou~ir~g for Ne~vHope, supports <br />the staff recommendation for the use of the ~~:~-2812 HaM;and CDBG <br />funds. He stated that Housing for New Hope 'rehoused aver 6~ people over <br />the past year and helps link people to support services. <br />2. She stated that the <br />lack of affordable housing and unemployment is contributing to a decrease in <br />the African-American pepulat~orl ~r~, Chapel Hill. 511e suggested that the <br />applicants for CDBG an:d HOME fu~d,~ng should submit statements about the <br />breakdown of tl~e~r'c~~erts by race :and gender. <br />4.
