Year -To -Date Budget <br />Summary <br />INFORMATION CONTACT. <br />Clarence Grier, (919) 245 -2453 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2010- <br />11. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department on Aging <br />1. The Department on Aging has received additional federal Volunteer Income Tax <br />Assistance (VITA) funds of $1,138 to cover costs of program supplies and mileage <br />reimbursement for volunteers. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these <br />additional funds. (See Attachment 1, Column 1) <br />Department of Social Services <br />2. The Department of Social Services has received revenue for the following programs: <br />• Crisis Intervention Funds— additional State allocation of $54,772 to pay for crisis <br />related heating needs for Orange County residents. <br />• LINKS (Independent Living) Program — additional State funds of $22,471 for the <br />Independent Living Services program for older foster care children who are <br />transitioning out of foster care. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated purposes. <br />(See Attachment 1, Column 2) <br />
