18 DRAFT ,1 U ~
1 Vice-Chair Schofield OK, well, according to more seasoned denizens of this process,
2 apparently, you can speak either in opposition or favor. Are there members of the audience
3 who are here tonight for either purpose?
4
5 OK. So, we'll proceed. I think that will do away with any necessary rebuttal statements.
6
7 Commissioner Jacobs But I have some questions.
8
9 Vice-Chair Schofield Yes, but we'd like to turn this back over to the Commissioners for
10 the questioning.
11
12 (End of side one of tape one)
13
14 (Typist's note: the following three comments are not on the tape but were taken down by
15 the Clerk at the meeting.)
16
17 Commissioner Jacobs He asked if there were cars for sale on the parking lot.
18.
19 Robert Davis (Typist's note: I believe it was Robert Davis's comment here.) If there:are, ,.
20 this is not in keeping with the zoning....
21
22 Commissioner Jacobs said for them to look into it. .
23
24 Commissioner Jacobs Has staff looked into requiring a connection at the back of the site
25 for future connectivity? -~
26
27 Robert Davis There is the prospect of doing more cutting on that site to do that.
28 Originally, Staff preferred the rear access for the interconnectivity back there. That wasn't
29 well received and the site work that would be involved, there was going to be a lot more dirt
30 to be moved, and, also, probably a loss of more trees, although it looks like they've got
_ _ __
-~ 31 most of them on the beck, at least where _the driveuvay-is: -They stiN.own-some of that_ _ _ _-
32- property backup. [pointing to map] on the top of the map, back over to-the west. But, ~ --~_
33 ideally, a road back there could serve this tract, the adjacent south tract, and also the
34 western tract. They are providing connectivity off of that first parking bay there, when you
35 come in off of (Eddie, could you point out that the access to the -- right there) -they're
36 allowing interconnectivity that way to their site.
37
38 Commissioner Jacobs To me this is an example of how we make anecdotal decisions
39 that destroy any comprehensive planning opportunities. Because, if, say there was a light
40 at Millhouse, and, then, somebody wanted to go over to Oakdale by not going on Old 86, it
41 would be so dangerous as to virtually be eliminated as a possibility to have to leave through
42 the middle of properties and through the traffic coming, even if there is a right turn in and a
43 right turn out, as opposed to going along the northern portion of the property -the western
44 portion, excuse me.
45
46 Robert Davis Right. We would have encouraged traffic that's already in there to have
47 different options to go out, but not someone to cut through Millstone and weave their way
48 through. You could stiff take that road across, but it would have to quickly move up to the
49 property line to get around over to service -that whole portion of property back there it is
