B. Twin Creeks Greenway Trail: <br />Contractor: McQueen Construction, Bahama North Carolina <br />Designer: Coulter, Jewell, Thames, PE, Durham North Carolina <br />Location: Adjacent to Morris Grove Elementary School <br />Budget: $1,979,457 <br />Description: <br />Construction of a .6 mile concrete greenway trail and bridge structure as <br />part of the Twin Creeks Master Plan. This project received a grant from <br />the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA"). <br />Status: <br />The project is 98% complete. Final substantial completion inspections <br />were satisfactorily conducted in mid March. This project is currently being <br />closed out with NCDOT, the contract facilitator representing the ARRA <br />funds. The greenway should be open for use in early May, 2011. <br />C. Piedmont Food and Agricultural Processing Center <br />Contractor: Morlando Construction, Charlotte North Carolina <br />Designer: Corley, Redfoot, Zack Architects, Chapel Hill North Carolina <br />Location: 500 Valley Forge Road, Hillsborough NC <br />Budget: $1,400,369.00 <br />Description: <br />Construction of a 10,000 square foot food processing facility that will <br />provide adequate tools for local farmers and food entrepreneurs to <br />prepare and sell their products to the local market. The facility is funded <br />by grants from the Tobacco Trust Foundation, the Golden Leaf <br />Foundation, Department of Energy (ARRA funds), the Specialty Crops <br />Foundation, the NC Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation <br />Trust, and the Rural Advancement Foundation International <br />Status: <br />The project is 75% complete. The substantial completion date has moved <br />to mid May from its scheduled completion date of April 18. The food <br />service equipment will be installed near the end of May as well. <br />
