PATTERSON PHOTOGRAPHIC ART COLLECTION PROJECT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made by and between ORANGE COUNTY, a body <br />politic and corporate, a political subdivision of the State of <br />North Carolina, herein "County" or "the County," and ORANGE SOIL <br />& WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT, a governmental subdivision of the <br />State of North Carolina and a body corporate and politic, herein <br />"District" or "the District." <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, Quentin Patterson, who passed away on December 31, <br />2002 at the age of 83, was a long time employee of the Soil <br />Conservation Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a <br />long-serving member of the District Board of Supervisors and an <br />accomplished photographer whose photographs of nature, <br />landscapes, animals and buildings and related slide show programs <br />that include audio tapes (hereafter collectively referred to as <br />"the Quentin W. Patterson Photographic Art Collection" or "the <br />Collection") were regularly used for educational presentations <br />both locally and nationally; and <br />WHEREAS, Evelyn Patterson, an educator and Quentin <br />Patterson's widow, has expressed an interest in donating to the <br />District the Quentin W. Patterson Photographic Art Collection and <br />
