RELATIONSHIP TO <br />COMPREHENSNE PLAN <br />Overarching Goals of the Comprehensive Plan <br />Qrange County's Comprehensive Plan was adopted in November, DDB, fallowing an <br />extensive process of discussion and citizen engagement. The Plan was written and <br />adopted with the intent of being a blueprint document to guide future policy decisions <br />far the County through the year 2D3D. Eight dead Advisory Boards provided leadership <br />and directionforthe Plan: <br />^ Planning Board <br />^ Economic development Commission <br />^ Affordable Housing Advisory Board <br />^ Commission for the Environment <br />^ Agricultural Preservation Board <br />^ Historic Preservation Commission <br />^ Parks and Recreation Advisory Council <br />^ grange Unified Transportation <br />A point of consensus in Orange County that emerged during preparation of the Plan is <br />that the County needs to move toward becoming a sustainable community. The <br />Comprehensive Plan includes a focus on implementation that is designed to link the <br />economy, the environment, and social equity. <br />There are seven overarching Goals highlighted in the Comprehensive Plan, as follows: <br />1. Economic Development: Viable and sustainable economic development that <br />contributes to both property and sales tax. revenues, and enhances high„ <br />quality employment opportunities for County residents. <br />~. Fousin : opportunity for all citizens for grange County to rent ar purchase <br />safe, decent, accessible, and affordable housing. <br />3. hand Use: Coordination of the amount, location, pattern and designation of <br />future land uses, With the availability of County services and facilities <br />sufficient to meet the needs of Grange County's population and economy <br />consistent with other Comprehensive Plan element goals and objectives. <br />
