DRAFT November 11, 2004 ~ ~~ <br />Section 8. Vehicle and Equipment Requirements <br />(a) Grantee shall comply with all vehicle and equipment <br />standards as developed by the North Carolina Medical <br />Care Commission pursuant to Law,- including without <br />limitation, those applicable to the EMS Services. <br />(b) Grantee shall maintain for each Ambulance and other <br />EMS Services Vehicle a permit as provided for by Law. <br />(c) Grantee shall comply with the state EMS <br />Nontransporting Vehicle Permit Requirements. <br />(d) Grantee shall have available the following minimum <br />number of Ambulances and other EMS Services Vehicles <br />in excellent working order to provide coverage to the <br />service area of the Franchise District 24 hours per <br />day. <br />Primary Ambulance Provider; <br />Secondary Ambulance Provider; <br />Convalescent Ambulance Services; <br />Air Medical Ambulance Specialty Care <br />Transport; <br />Ground Specialty Care Transport; <br />Hospital-Affiliated Ground Specialty Care <br />Transport Programs Used for <br />In-Patient Transport; and <br />an adequate number of EMS Nontransporting <br />Vehicles (including First Responder and <br />Rescue Service vehicles) and other EMS <br />Services Vehicles as necessary to provide <br />the high quality of services provided for <br />in this Franchise. <br />(e) Grantee shall comply with the Grantor's operational <br />protocols for the management of equipment, supplies <br />and medications to assure that each Ambulance and <br />other EMS Services Vehicle contains the required <br />equipment and supplies on each response; for cleaning <br />11 <br />
