Whiffed Human Services Center <br />"A" Building Sprinkler Systems Installation <br />Hillsborough, NC <br />January 24, 2011 <br />Reece, Noland, & McElrath Engineers propose to provide Professional Engineering Services for design of <br />Fire Sprinkler Systems for this project. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Installation of a fire sprinkler system in an existing approximately 39,000 <br />square foot health department and office facility for the County of Orange. <br />FEE: Our lump sum fee for this project is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). The milestones for <br />billing are as follows: Construction Documents 80%, Construction Phase 20%. <br />BASIC SERVICES: The lump sum fee proposed above includes the following basic services: <br />1. Prepare project drawings and specifications in sufficient detail to obtain regulatory approval and to <br />receive bids. We will prepare criteria drawings and performance specifications in accordance with <br />NC Department of Insurance Requirements. Detailed piping drawings and hydraulic calculations <br />will be provided by the sprinkler contractor. <br />2. Prepare civil engineering drawings of water supply for the sprinkler system including coordination <br />with the city water purveyor. This work will be performed by Corley Redfoot Zack. <br />3. Coordinate our work with work of other members of the Design Team. <br />4. Assist the Owner and renovation project architect in obtaining proposals for the work. <br />5. Coordinate with Owner, Architect, and Renovation Contractor to expedite maintaining County <br />required occupancy schedules. <br />6. Review shop drawings and submittals for items of work that are part of our design. <br />7. Conduct regular site visits during construction to observe the work and assist. with coordination or <br />problem resolution, as requested by the Owner. <br />8. Attend Scheduled Construction Conferences. <br />9. Review Owner's Manuals and as-built drawings submitted by the Contractor. <br />10. Support Owner during the Contractors' one-year warranty period to resolve any problems with <br />equipment manufacturers, suppliers, system operation, balancing, etc. <br />ADDITIONAL SERVICES: The lump sum fee proposed above does not include services such as those <br />listed below. We will propose additional fees for such services upon request: <br />1. Construction administration services which extend beyond the established Contract Completion <br />Date, through no fault of the Designer, including default of any Contractor. <br />2. Modifying drawings and specifications as a result of Contractors' equipment substitutions, failure <br />to coordinate or sequence the work, or other fault of the Contractor(s). <br />
