Parks ~: l~~ecreation <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners <br />FROM: David Stanch, Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks & Recreation <br />Director <br />DATE: February 16, 2011 <br />SUBJECT: Recommendation for Reappointment to the Historic Preservation Commission <br />Statler Gilfillen, member of the Orange County Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is <br />approaching the end of his first partial term. The Historic Preservation Commission participates <br />in the Certified Local Government proaram. All HPC members must have personal, professional <br />and/or organization experience related to historic preservation. Examples of appropriate <br />professions include: architect, historian, architectural historian, archaeologist, landscape <br />architect, planner, anthropologist, curator, conservationist, or folklorist, or other activities that <br />are related to historic preservation. Members must also reside in Orange County's planning <br />jurisdiction. <br />Mr. Gilfillen's Knowledge in architecture, architectural history and his previous experience on a <br />historic preservation commission has provided the HPC with a,fnore well rounded preservation <br />board. He has maintained good attendance records (see enclosure) and would like to continue <br />to serve on the HPC. <br />Please convey this to the Board of Commissioners for their earliest consideration, to prevent <br />any gaps in our membership.
