not there are adequate funds budgeted in the current fiscal year to reimburse the applicant for impact fees <br />paid by the applicant. <br />If the Manager's recommendation is favorable, the item will be placed on the next Board of County <br />Commissioners agenda for its consideration. If the board decision is favorable, the non-profit <br />organization will be reimbursed for the impact fee that it has paid. <br />The Housing and Community Development Director will communicate the decision to the Planning <br />Department and the Finance Department. <br />The non-profit organization is responsible for providing written notice, including documentation, of impact fee <br />payment to the Housing and Community Development Department. The organization will be reimbursed <br />within five working days of receipt of the written notice by the Housing and Community Development <br />Department. <br />All funding decisions by the Board of County Commissioners will be good for a period of twelve months from <br />the date of approval. Proposed Changes to County Tax Notice Format <br />The Board considered a proposal to improve the tax notice form and provide the County with a <br />low-cost method of communication with the citizens. <br />Tax Collector Ginger Rolfe presented the present tax notice and described it in detail. She then <br />explained in detail the proposed format. By using this new tax format, the processing costs will increase by <br />$10,532. Although this is an increase over our present cost, she feels that time will be saved in several <br />aspects. <br />Commissioner Halkiotis commended Ginger Rolfe for developing this new format. He feels the <br />information provided by this notice will be well received. <br />Chair Margaret Brown asked about paying for animal fees using this same form and staff will look <br />into that possibility. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Carey to approve <br />the new County Tax Notice Format as presented. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />C. Contract Approval - Roof Appraisal <br />The Board considered approving a contract in the amount of $23,040 with CTL Engineering to <br />conduct an appraisal of the roofs of all County buildings. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to approve <br />the contract in the amount of $23,040 with CTL Engineering to conduct an appraisal of all the roofs for all <br />County buildings commensurate with the proposal submitted dated January 21, 1998 and authorize the <br />Purchasing Director to execute incidental paperwork necessary to complete this process. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />d. Triangle Transit Authority Funds for Employment Transportation Initiative <br />The Board considered a proposal to request the support of Triangle Transit Authority for Orange <br />County's Employment and Work First transportation initiatives. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to request <br />TTA's support for all five Employment/Work First initiatives. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS
