Commissioner Gordon made reference to the Commission for the Environment and thanked Gene <br />Bell for staffing this commission. The meetings are going quite well and she is impressed by the background <br />of those who serve on this commission. <br />Commissioner Carey asked when the Brookfield item will come back to the Board of County <br />Commissioners and John Link indicated that he plans to meet next week to set the agenda for the County <br />Commissioners meeting with OWASA next month. <br />4. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />John Link made reference to a memo from Neil Pedersen about options they will explore for the <br />proposed Middle School at Meadowmont. He will keep the County Commissioners informed on this topic. <br />He announced that Lucy Lewis has resigned as Director of Human Rights and Relations effective <br />February 27. He praised Ms. Lewis for helping Orange County establish the Human Rights and Relations <br />agency. <br />5. RESOLUTIONS/PROCLAMATIONS <br />a. Resolution of Appreciation for Geraldine Weathers <br />The Board considered a Resolution of Appreciation for Geraldine Weathers for 34 years of service <br />to the citizens of Orange County. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to approve <br />the resolution as stated below: <br />RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br />FOR <br />GERALDINE H. WEATHERS <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers has been a loyal and faithful employee of Orange <br />County for the past 34 years; and <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers has been diligent in her tasks and responsibilities as <br />Lead Supervisor and Assistant Register of Deeds; and <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers has continuously demonstrated a selfless work ethic <br />by assisting, training and supporting others; and <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers has been exemplary in her knowledge and <br />implementation of quality control measures for all areas of the Register of Deeds Office; and <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers has demonstrated expertise and commitment in <br />promoting the Optical Imaging Process for the recording of permanent documents; and <br />WHEREAS, through her efforts and proficiency with the Optical Imaging Process, <br />Geraldine H. Weathers has helped to place Orange County on the forefront of technology; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Geraldine H. Weathers is to be duly recognized and commended for her <br />efficiency, integrity, and dedication to the citizens of Orange County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners, does <br />hereby express its gratitude and appreciation to GERALDINE H. WEATHERS for her many <br />years of dedicated service to Orange County.
