Original (1993) 2004 and Onward <br />Research <br />The Department conducts research for Commission for Women The Department will provide research on pertinent social justice <br />issues and in preparation for the Biennial Report issues. This research will serve as a resource for individuals <br /> serving underrepresented populations, information for the <br /> general public and for underrepresented communities. <br /> Research will involve statistical analysis of social justice issues <br /> for position papers, reports and issue briefings. <br /> Examples of possible research issues include; <br /> - Women's Issues like Economic Equity and the Status of <br /> Women in Orange County <br /> -People of Color Issues like Interethnic Conflict and <br /> Communities of Color in Orange County <br /> - Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) Issues <br /> like Bullying and LGBT Youth in Schools <br /> Key Change: <br /> The Department will increase research on traditionally <br /> underrepresented Orange County communities as part of .its <br /> efforts to educate the community on human rights and <br /> relations issues in the County. While the Department has been <br /> doing some of this type of research for the Status of Women <br /> Report it has not researched issues affecting other <br /> communities facing discrimination, economic hardship or <br /> other inequality. <br /> <br />11 <br />
