(JBI) signed <br />agreement in June 2000 to secure appropriate Federal Financial Assistance in recovering <br />additional federal dollars that are due to the County for reimbursement of some of the costs of <br />incarcerating criminals who have committed serious crimes. <br />Based on JBI's work, the County will receive an additional $27,614 from the U.S. Department of <br />Justice. Based on the agreement provisions, the County will compensate JBI twenty-two <br />percent (22%) of the total received as a direct result of the work JBI completed. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The County would receive $27,614 from the U.S. Department of Justice. <br />The County would compensate JBI $6,075.08, equaling 22% of the total amount, leaving a <br />balance of $21,538.92 for Orange County. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board of Commissioners accept <br />the award from SCARP in the amount of $27,614 for Orange County. <br />
