8 <br />Accomplishments: 2010 <br />1. Promoted. the availability of Hillsborough's soon-to-be completed Eno Haven low-income <br />senior housing <br />2. Incorporated the Department on Aging's limited mobility-related minor home repair program <br />into the Aging In Place services options available through Aging Transitions. <br />Recommendations for 2011: <br />1.Outreach to the residents of Eno Haven senior housing complex to encourage participation in <br />the nearby Central Orange Senior Center programs and activities. <br />2. Develop listing of home repair options for older adults with limited income and include in the <br />2011 Community Resource Guide. <br />Objective B-2: Expand tax assistance for older adults who have difficulty paying their <br />home property tax over time. <br />Lead Organization (s): County Board of Commissioners with supporting County <br />Departments <br />Accomplishments: 2010: <br />1. Aging Transitions staff distributed tax information to all clients with limited incomes who could <br />potentially qualify for assistance, utilizing fact sheet developed by staff. <br />Recommendations for 2011: <br />1. Support the Board of County Commissioners' legislative agenda that includes reform to the <br />Homestead Exemption Act. <br />Goal C: Transit/Mobility: Enhance mobility options for all older adults regardless of <br />functionality, through amulti-module vision that is acceptable, efficient, effective and <br />affordable. <br />Objective C-1: Increase funding sources for expansion and/or enhancements of <br />new or existing transit services for older adults. <br />Lead Organization (s): Department on Aging- Public Transportation Div. with Board of <br />County Commissioners <br />Accomplishments: 2010: <br />1. Planned a new Hillsborough in-town public route that would connect to the existing 420 route <br />allowing seniors, low income, and the general public access to the 420 route and human agency <br />services in Hillsborough. <br />Recommendations for 2011: <br />1. Support implementation of the Hillsborough in-town route, which is supported by the Town <br />of Hillsborough and Orange County. <br />Objective C-2: Improve Orange Public Transportation (OPT) transit services and <br />the county`s emergency disaster transit provision for older adults. <br />
