Flexible Development Annual Report
The Board received the first report on flexible development in major subdivisions.
Planner Emily Cameron made this presentation. She summarized the information in the agenda
and showed slides of the data in the report. The Flexible Development regulations went into effect on July 1,
1996. Seven (7) Concept Plans were reviewed during FY 96-97 under the new procedures. Three of the
seven applicants proposed Flexible Development plans using a hybrid of the conservation and cluster options
for protecting open space.
Commissioner Brown said she would like further discussion to determine if what is happening
meets with the intent of the goals of Flexible Development. It was decided that a work session would be held
in early 1998 for further discussion.
