Copy of Approved Legal Advertisement <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Glenn Bowles, Planner II 245-2577 <br />Craig Benedict, Director 245 2592 <br />PURPOSE: To hold a public hearing to receive comment on the Master Telecommunication <br />Plan in accordance with the provisions of Section 6.18 Telecommunication Towers and <br />Equipment and Section 6.18.5 Master Telecommunication Plan of the Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance (hereafter `the Ordinance') and to take action on the Plan. <br />BACKGROUND: There are portions of the County that are either not served, or are <br />underserved, by telecommunication services. This has become an impediment to essential <br />County communications for several departments (i.e. Emergency Management, Sheriff, <br />Information Technologies, Building Inspections, Health Department, etc) and has negatively <br />impacted local residents. <br />Within the Ordinance there is a mechanism available to the County to take proactive action to <br />potentially address these issues through the adoption of the Master Telecommunication Plan <br />Map (hereafter `the Plan'). <br />
