8. ITEMS FOR DECISION -CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to approve the items <br />on the Consent Agenda as stated below: <br />A. APPOINTMENTS <br />The following appointments were approved: <br />Human Relations Commission - Jeremy Long for an unexpired term ending 12/31/97 <br />Human Services Transportation Board - Sarah E. Carter for a term ending 3/31/99 <br />JOCCA - Edith A. Hubbard for a 3-year term ending 3/31/2000 <br />Agricultural District Advisory Board - Trudy Matheny for a term ending 6/30/2000 <br />Note: The appointment to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee and the appointments to the <br />Orange County Board of Adjustment were delayed until August 20th <br />B. RESULTS OF TENNIS COURT REPAIRS BID AWARD <br />The award for repairs to the Orange High School Tennis Courts was made to B & M Sealcoating, <br />Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $80,059.50. One other bid was received from Blalock <br />Paving in the amount of $129,209. <br />C. HOME PROGRAM AGREEMENT - INTERFAITH COUNCIL <br />The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the Development Agreement with InterFaith <br />Council on behalf of the Orange County HOME Consortium, contingent upon County Attorney review and <br />approval. <br />D. VEHICLE EXTRICATION FRANCHISE APPLICATION <br />The Board approved the franchises for rescue service (vehicle extrication) to be provided by North <br />Chatham, Hillsborough, Mebane, Orange Grove, Caldwell, Eno, Cedar Grove, and Efland Fire Departments. <br />E. TAX COLLECTOR'S ANNUAL SETTLEMENT <br />The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the resolution as stated below: <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TAX COLLECTOR'S ANNUAL SETTLEMENT <br />FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1996 AND PRIOR YEARS <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County that the following documents attached <br />hereto are received and approved, consisting of the following: <br />(1) Tax Collector's Report of 1996 Unpaid Taxes on Real Property <br />(2) Tax Collector's Report of 1996 Unpaid Taxes on Personal Property (Insolvent List) <br />(3) Tax Collector's Report of 1996 Unpaid Taxes on Motor Vehicles <br />(4) Tax Collector's Report of Minimal Property Tax Bills <br />(5) Settlement of 1996 Tax Accounts <br />(6) Settlement of Prior Years (1986-1995) Tax Accounts <br />(7) Report of collections of Non-Tax Revenue and Miscellaneous Taxes <br />NOTE: Copies of all of these reports are on disk in the Clerk's Office <br />F.
