CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND THE UNC <br />SCHOOL OF PHARMACY <br />The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign professional contracts between Orange <br />County Health Department and the UNC School of Pharmacy to provide consultant pharmacy services which <br />are required by law in order for the Health Department to dispense prescription medications to its patients. <br />MM. AUTHORIZATION FOR PURCHASING DIRECTOR TO AWARD BID <br />The County Commissioners authorized the Purchasing Director to award a bid for tennis court <br />improvements at Orange High School in an amount not to exceed $45,000 in County funds. <br />NN. PYROTECHNICS PERMIT FOR THE ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH <br />The County Commissioners approved the pyrotechnics permit for Abundant Life church for their <br />fireworks display to occur July 4, 1997 contingent upon receipt of appropriate proof of insurance and <br />authorized the staff to sign off on the permit form as required. <br />VOTE ON THE CONSENT AGENDA: UNANIMOUS <br />ITEMS REMOVED FROM THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />D. RENEWAL OF EMS TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT WITH SOUTH ORANGE RESCUE <br />SQUAD <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve <br />and authorize the Chair to sign the renewal agreement between Orange County and South Orange EMS and <br />Rescue Squad, Inc. in regard to transportation by them. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Q. AMENDMENTS TO ORANGE REGIONAL LANDFILL TIPPING FEE SCHEDULE <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to approve <br />tipping fees of $35.00 per ton for mixed solid waste, $35.00 per ton for construction and demolition materials, <br />and $12.00 per ton for yard waste and clean wood waste, with all fee changes to take effect July 1, 1997. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Y. DEDICATION OF SOUTHERN HUMAN SERVICES CENTER WATERISEWER LINES TO <br />OWASA <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to approve <br />the dedication of water and sewer lines at the Southern Human Services Center site to OWASA. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />AA. AGREEMENT BETWEEN ORANGE COUNTY AND NORTHEN, BLUE, ROOKS, THIBAUT, <br />ANDERSON AND WOODS, L.L.P. FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to approve an <br />agreement between Orange County and Northen, Blue, Rooks, Thibaut, Anderson and Woods, L.L.P. for <br />DSS Legal Services for Fiscal Year 1997-98.
