M.- <br />2005 <br />County and Town appoint Fairview Master Plan Committee, <br />including two representatives from each board. <br />2006 <br />County and Town adopt Fairview Master Plan. <br />2007 <br />At joint meeting of Town and County boards, update is <br />provided on Fairview Park and selection of consultant for <br />engineering and construction drawings is delegated to joint <br />County/Town staff. <br />2007 -2010 <br />Meetings held between management and staff to discuss joint <br />or shared operations of the planned park. <br />2008 <br />County and Town jointly apply for Parks and Recreation Trust <br />Fund ( PARTF) grant of $500,000 to augment available funds <br />for the park, but grant is not awarded. Conditional Use Permit <br />for the park is submitted and ultimately approved by Town. <br />2008 <br />Town and county agree to cost -share for portion of sidewalk. <br />2009 <br />Town and County staff meet to outline a possible MOU for <br />park operation. Proposed MOU is discussed at February joint <br />meeting, no action taken. <br />2009 <br />Town and County jointly reapply for PARTF grant, and are <br />awarded $500,000 in summer. County proceeds with plans to <br />bid construction of park. <br />2009 <br />Groundbreaking ceremony held with Town and County <br />officials and community residents, along with plant rescue. <br />2010 <br />Construction of Fairview Park begins. Town and County both <br />appropriate funds in budget for Fairview Park operations and <br />maintenance. The need for an additional Interlocal Agreement <br />(ILA) regarding operations and maintenance, safety and other <br />logistical concerns is identified, and management/staffs from <br />the two jurisdictions develop a draft. A revised version of the <br />ILA is proposed, deleting Town funding contributions, and is <br />agreed to by both boards in November. <br />2011 <br />Construction continues and is now substantially complete, <br />pending good weather. Possible grand opening considered for <br />April. <br />
