WHEREAS, April 13-19, 1997, is National County Government Week and <br />Orange County is proud of its key role in the governmental <br />partnership as the local provider and facilitator of important services <br />for the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County is committed to enhancing ways for citizens to learn <br />more about and have input in local decisions; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County delivers key services that many citizens rely on daily <br />activities - such as restaurant inspections, jail operations, <br />vaccinations and immunizations, emergency management, <br />ambulance services, job training and related support services, child <br />health and protection, aging programs, drug and alcohol treatment <br />and rehabilitation, collection of child support monies, filing of <br />property deeds, waste reduction and disposal, economic <br />development strategies, land use and tax mapping; and <br />WHEREAS, Given our involvement in these key services and our close proximity <br />to those we serve, Orange County is well positioned to further <br />strengthen the relationships between government and its citizenry; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County is committed to building a stronger partnership with <br />its citizens in defining community problems and solutions through <br />such efforts as strategic planning and local focus groups. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We, the ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, do <br />hereby proclaim the week of April 13-19, 1997, as Orange County <br />Government Week, and further encourage all citizens to become <br />familiar with the services provided by Orange County government. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />6. PARTICIPANTS <br />Gloria Williams, Executive Director of JOCCA and Faye Hall, JTPA Director recognized the <br />achievements of three (3) Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) participants.
