<br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />ADDENDUM TO FOOD WASTE <br />CONTRACT <br />Addendum to that certain Agreement effective July 1, 2001, between The County of <br />Orange, on behalf of its Solid Waste Department, hereinafter referred to as "County" and <br />Brooks Contractor, herein referred to as "Contractor" for the collection and composting <br />of food waste from participating business establishments located in Orange County. <br />In consideration of the mutual promises and conditions set forth herein, the County and <br />Contractor agree to amend the Agreement as follows: <br />1. The agreement to be amended to extend the contract period until June 30, 2005. <br />2. The cost per ton shall be $77.25 for the first 1,250 tons collected. <br />3. Additional tons collected above 1,250 shall be charged at $56.65. <br />4. Two Hams Teeter stores, # 117 and a second store to be named shall be billed at <br />$500.00 per site per month and their tonnage reported separately from other billed <br />tonnage. <br />5. Beginning September 1, 2004 Contractor will begin servicing the following sites <br />of UNC- Chapel Hill for animal bedding, which will be co-composted with <br />County food waste, at the frequency indicated- <br />Davie- <br />Wilson Hall- <br />Beard- <br />McGavran-Greenberg- <br />Berryhill- <br />Glaxo- <br />BSRC- <br />MBRB- <br />Taylor- <br />Dental School- <br />FLOB- <br />Thurston- Bowles- <br />Francis Owen Blood Lab- <br />6. <br />7. <br />Once every other week <br />Once every other week <br />Once per week <br />Once per week <br />Twice per week <br />Once every other week <br />Twice per week <br />Twice per week <br />Once per week <br />Once per week <br />Twice per week <br />Twice per week <br />Once per week <br />Contractor will provide to UNC Chapel Hill and the County a calendar schedule <br />of when the pickups will occur. Sites and frequency may change by mutual <br />consent of the county, contractor and UNC-Chapel Hill. <br />Animal bedding sites will be serviced for a flat fee of $40.00 per site per pickup. <br />All carts used to collect animal bedding will be provided by UNC-Chapel Hill. <br />Contractor will be responsible for damage to the containers incurred during the <br />pickups with the exception of normal wear and tear. <br />
