<br />Critical Benchmark 2-3 Response Plan to Increase Surge Capacity <br />Objective 2-3a EMS <br />EMS Systems may increase their deployment of extra medical resources by participating in <br />regional SMAT III program. Orange County EMS has applied to develop an SMAT-III team. <br />Critical Benchmark 5 Education <br />Objective Sa EMS <br />Documentation of any education associated with preparedness for terrorist events. Orange <br />County EMS has no specific educational needs at this time. WMD training has been provided <br />and is available to each of the EMS employees of our department. <br />Critical Benchmark 2-8 Mental Health <br />Objective 2-8a EMS <br />Statement of capacity for mental health intervention with respect to any mental health <br />system implemented or maintained. Orange County EMS provides a comprehensive mental <br />health program for its personnel. This includes critical incident stress management programs <br />supervised by a staff Psychologist who also offers CISD and specific counseling as needed <br />following any incident and a twenty four hour available Employee Assistance Program. <br />4 <br />
