Please complete the <br />following information, limited to the front and back of this form. Other background <br />materials may be provided as a supplement to, but not as a substitute for, this form. <br />Board /Commission Name: Planning Board. <br />Person to address the BOCC at Retreat (if requested by BOCC) and contact <br />information: Brian Crawford, Chair, 471 -4566 or 680 -2123 and brian(_Dattyblc.com <br />Primary County Staff Contact: Craig Benedict, Planning Director <br />How many times per month does this board /commission meet, including any <br />special meetings and sub - committee meetings? <br />On average, twice per month (12 regular meetings + 4 Quarterly Public Hearings + <br />special or sub - committee meetings). <br />Brief Statement of Board /Commission's Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br />Under the authority of NC General Statute, the BOCC created the Planning Board to <br />embark upon a continuing planning program, including but not limited to the preparation <br />and maintenance of a Comprehensive Plan for Orange County, in protection of the <br />public health, safety, and general welfare of present and future residents, landowners <br />and visitors. <br />What are your Board /Commission's most important accomplishments? <br />Within last 3- years, <br />• Review of Buckhorn Village development proposal and recommendation <br />to BOCC <br />• Development of 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />More recently, <br />• Upper Eno Critical Area Watershed amendments <br />• Review of preliminary draft sections and first draft Unified Development <br />Ordinance <br />
