What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the
upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the
Commissioners' attention?
Placement Partner Agreement: Staff is still gathering information on whether the
present version of the agreement can be implemented without the loss of
placement partners and opportunities. These opportunities account for the
transfer of approximately 400 adoptable animals each year for their final
placement. The primary (and persistent) concern for placement partners is the
insurance requirements of the present version of the agreement.
Pet Licensing: The ASAB expect to work with staff to improve the County's
licensing process and rate of licensing compliance. With respect to compliance,
there is a need for an effective follow -up process to ensure equity and enhance
this revenue stream. More generally, there may be consideration of the present
licensing form, outreach regarding web -based licensing, and even licensing
terms and the availability of lifetime licenses.
