141 <br />for the individual at home, home care not only strengthens the family bond, <br />but serves as a cost-effective method of care by avoiding unnecessary <br />institutional care, and <br />WHEREAS, home care providers are recognized for their meaningful work <br />with our ill and disabled citizens. Through the special relationships formed <br />between patient and caregiver, a better quality of life and sense of dignity <br />are achieved by many Orange County residents each year, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of <br />commissioners, do hereby proclaim November 27th through December 3rd, 1994 as <br />"National Home Care Week" in Orange County and urge our citizens to recognize <br />the efforts of home care providers and the families and friends of the elderly <br />and disabled who provide important services in the home. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />VI. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />A. SPECIAL PRESENTATION TO SHERIFF LINDY PENDERGRASS <br />Postponed until December 20, 1994 meeting <br />VII. PUBLIC HEARINGS - NONE <br />VIII. ITEMS FOR DECISION - CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve those items on the Consent Agenda as stated below: <br />A. BUDGET ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #3 <br />The Board approved the budget ordinance amendments and capital <br />project ordinances as listed below: <br />GENERAL FUND <br />Source - Miscellaneous ( $7,050) <br />Appropriation - Community Planning 7,050 <br />(To budget for County's membership in the <br />Research Triangle Regional Partnership) <br />Source - Intergovernmental 7,556 <br />Appropriation - Human Services 7,556 <br />(To budget for State rural general public <br />transportation funds) <br />Source - Charges for services 4,350 <br />Appropriation - Human Services 4,350 <br />(To budget for CAT Headstart transportation <br />contract) <br />GRANT PROJECT ORDINANCES <br />COMPREHENSIVE BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER CONTROL PROGRAM <br />Source - Intergovernmental - Breast and 29,287 <br />Cervical Cancer <br />Appropriation - Human Services - Breast and 29,287 <br />Cervical Cancer
