The Department of Social Services, based on historical collections, anticipates revenues <br />for the following programs: <br />• General Assistance Donations — donated funds totaling $23,000 to help with special <br />needs clients throughout the year, including seniors. <br />• Foster Care Donations — donated funds totaling $7,000 from residents of Orange <br />County to help with the needs of foster care clients, and from Triangle Community <br />Foundation's "Send A Kid to Camp" program. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds, and are budgeted in a <br />special Adoption Enhancement Fund outside of the General Fund. <br />6. The Department of Social Services has received notification of the receipt of a $300 <br />grant award from the North Carolina Department of Insurance. The department plans <br />to use these funds to promote bicycle safety for the Safe Kids Program. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose.
