The Department of Social Services, based on historical collections, anticipates revenues <br /> for the following programs: <br /> • General Assistance Donations — donated funds totaling $23,000 to help with special <br /> needs clients throughout the year, including seniors. <br /> • Foster Care Donations — donated funds totaling $7,000 from residents of Orange <br /> County to help with the needs of foster care clients, and from Triangle Community <br /> Foundation's "Send A Kid to Camp" program. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds, and are budgeted in a <br /> special Adoption Enhancement Fund outside of the General Fund. <br /> 6. The Department of Social Services has �eceived notification of the receipt of a $300 <br /> grant award from the North Carolina Department of Insurance. The department plans <br /> to use these funds to promote bicycle safety for the Safe Kids Program. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose. (See <br /> Attachment 1, column 5) <br />
