1 <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2010 <br />SUBJECT: Automatic External Defibrillator <br />DEPARTMENT: Emergency Services <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 3 ~~, <br />D) Demonstration <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Frank Montes de Oca, 245-6100 <br />PURPOSE: To observe a demonstration on the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator <br />(AED) like the ones being located in various County facilities. <br />BACKGROUND: At its August 17, 2010 regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners <br />approved the Automatic External Defibrillator Program Guidelines for the placement of AEDs at <br />County facilities. In follow-up to that approval, staff will provide a brief demonstration to the <br />Board and public on the use of AEDs being placed in County facilities. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with the demonstration on the <br />use of AEDs being located in various County facilities. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board observe the <br />demonstration and provide any comments or feedback to staff. <br />
