Harvey, Planner III, 245-2597 <br />PURPOSE: To continue review and comments on the first draft Unified Development <br />Ordinance (UDO). <br />BACKGROUND: At the August 23, 2010 work session, the BOCC received a staff presentation <br />on the UDO and began its review and comment on the document. During the course of the <br />evening, the Board provided comments on Articles 1 through 5. Comments were received in <br />roughly three categories: <br />1. Rephrasing and grammar <br />2. "White Paper" staff research on a few topics before a decision on whether to incorporate <br />the comment into the UDO <br />3. Noted for future UDO phases} <br />At the end of the evening, the Board decided a second work session would be necessary to <br />review and comment on the remainder of the document (Articles 6 through 10). September 17, <br />2010 was the date chosen and approved for the second work session. Since some <br />Commissioners were absent from the August 23 work session, staff may collect any comments <br />they have on Articles 1 through 5 for discussion after review of Articles 6 through 10 is <br />completed. <br />SCOPE: At the August 24, 2009 BOCC meeting, staff was authorized to begin the process of <br />developing the UDO. Specifically, staff was tasked with the following: <br />• Incorporate all land use development regulations (i.e. Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision <br />Ordinance, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control, and Floodplain Ordinance) into one <br />document, <br />
