Also, he had asked at the first <br /> meeting after the summer break for information about the extension of Sage Road and the 1-85 <br /> widening that DOT had suggested for only four miles in Orange County and the rationale for <br /> that. He would like to be able to answer questions from citizens about this. <br /> At the library and the Planning building, Commissioner Jacobs said that there are no <br /> garbage cans outside on the street and people are throwing things on the ground. He said <br /> that he wound up having lunch with Congressman David Price and he brought up Rogers <br /> Road again. Congressman Price said that he would ask his staff for funding streams for <br /> sewage treatment in this area. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs reminded everyone that the Hillsborough Arts Council took over <br /> the Cool Jazz Festival that the County de-funded, and it will take place this Saturday from 12-6 <br /> at Moorefields. <br /> Chair Foushee made reference to the Orange County campus of Durham Technical <br /> Community College and said that the enrollment for the fall session is up 30% over last fall. <br /> The current enrollment is 574 students.
