<br />6. New and replacement sanitary sewage systems shall be designed to minimize or eliminate
<br />infiltration of floodwaters into the systems and discharges from the systems into floodwaters.
<br />7. On -site waste disposal systems shall be located and constructed to avoid impairment to them
<br />or contamination from them during flooding.
<br />8. Any alteration, repair, reconstruction, or improvements to a structure, which complies with
<br />the provisions of this Ordinance, shall meet the requirements of "new construction" as
<br />contained in this Ordinance.
<br />9. Non - conforming buildings or uses or other development may not be enlarged, replaced, or
<br />rebuilt unless such enlargement or reconstruction is accomplished conforming to the
<br />provisions of this Ordinance. Provided, however, nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent the
<br />repair, reconstruction, or replacement of a building or structure existing on the effective date
<br />of this Ordinance and located totally or partially within the floodway zene, non-
<br />encroachment area, or stream setbac provided that the bulk of the building or structure
<br />below the regulatory flood protection elevation in the floodway zone, non - encroachment
<br />area, or stream setback is not increased and if provided that such repair, reconstruction, or
<br />replacement meets all of the other requirements of this Ordinance.
<br />10. New solid waste disposal facilities, hazardous waste management facilities, salvage
<br />yards, and chemical storage facilities shall not be permitted in SFHAs.
<br />11. A structure or tank for chemical or fuel storage incidental to an allowed use or to the
<br />operation of a water treatment plant or wastewater treatment facility may be located in
<br />a SFHA only if the structure or tank is either elevated or flood proofed to at least the
<br />regulatory flood protection elevation and certified according to Section 42 -68(3) of this
<br />Ordinance.
<br />12. Storage of the following chemical compounds shall be prohibited within SFHAs:
<br />a)
<br />Acetone,
<br />m) Phosphorus,
<br />b)
<br />Ammonia,
<br />n)
<br />Potassium,
<br />c)
<br />Benzene,
<br />o)
<br />Sodium,
<br />d)
<br />Calcium carbide,
<br />p)
<br />Sulfur,
<br />e)
<br />Carbon disulfide,
<br />q)
<br />Acetylene gas,
<br />f)
<br />Celluloid,
<br />r)
<br />Gasoline,
<br />g)
<br />Chlorine,
<br />_s)
<br />Any petroleum product,
<br />h)
<br />Hydrochloric acid,
<br />t)
<br />Lumber, and
<br />i)
<br />Prussic acid,
<br />u)
<br />Charcoal or coal dust.
<br />j)
<br />Magnesium,
<br />k)
<br />Nitric acid,
<br />1)
<br />Oxides of nitrogen,
<br />13. Hospitals,
<br />nursing homes,
<br />foster care facilities, sheriffs facilities, fire stations,
<br />emergency operations centers, and vehicle and equipment storage facilities shall not be
<br />permitted in SFHAs.
<br />14. Any inhabited structure within any SFHA shall have unobstructed, dry access during a
<br />regulatory flood event.
<br />15. New fill material within any SFHA shall be prohibited.
