Board of Commissioners Meeting Calendar for Year 2011 <br />The Board approved the regular meeting schedule for the Board of County Commissioners for <br />calendar year 2011. <br />L Fiscal Year 2010-11 Budaet Amendment #3 <br />The Board approved budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2010-11 for the Health <br />Department, Department on Aging, Department of Social Services, and Visitors Bureau Fund. <br />k. Items Removed From Consent Agenda <br />Item 'e', Interlocal Agreement between Town of Hillsborough and Orange County for <br />Stormwater Program Management and Erosion Control Services, was removed from the <br />meeting agenda and not considered. <br />6. Public Hearings <br />a. Public Hearina and Consideration of Resolution Authorizing Application to <br />the Local Government Commission to Issue Up to $103 6 Million in General Obligation <br />Refunding Bonds and Financina of $2 Million for Computer Hardware/Software and <br />Communications Equipment <br />The Board held a public hearing and considered approving a resolution authorizing <br />application to the Local Government commission to issue up to $103.6 million in General <br />Obligation Refunding Bonds and to finance $2 Million in computer hardware/software and <br />communications equipment. <br />Financial Services Director Clarence Grier summarized this item. He said that as the <br />economy has turned, interest rates have been low, and this provides an opportunity to look at <br />the debt and refinance some debt, which provides a savings. This fiscal year alone, if <br />everything goes as scheduled, the debt service will be reduced by $1.8 million. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner Yuhasz <br />to close the public hearing. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pelissier to authorize staff to proceed with an application requesting the Local Government <br />Commission's approval to issue up to $103.6 million of refunding bonds for the purpose of <br />refunding various debt obligations of the County; and to finance $2 million for the purchase of <br />computer software, Sheriff's Department radios and telephone related equipment; and authorize <br />
