Article IV Employee INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Benefits, Section 5.3 Valerie Foushee, Chair BOCC , 245-2130 <br /> Vacation Leave Michael McGinnis, Human Resources Director, <br /> 245-2552 <br /> Donna Baker, County Clerk, 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To increase the County Manager's vacation leave accrual rate. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Board of Commissioners has completed the County <br /> Manager's performance review for the period October 6, 2009 through October 5, 2010. As <br /> part of the Manager's employment contract, the Board approved a vacation accrual rate of <br /> 14.4 hours per month or 172.8 hours per year. As a result of the Manager's performance <br /> review, the Board will adjust the Manager's vacation accrual rate from the current 14.4 hours <br /> per month or 172.8 hours per year to the new rate of 16.8 hours per month or 201.6 hours per <br /> year. This is consistent with a rate within the Personnel Ordinances, Article IV Employee <br /> Benefits, Section 5.3 Vacation Leave (see Attachment 1). <br /> This rate change is effective October 6, 2010 with the completion of the review process. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There are no immediate financial impacts. At time of separation, all <br /> employees are paid for up to 240 hours of accrued vacation (or annual) leave. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The County Manager's vacation leave accrual rate will increase to <br /> 16.8 hours per month or 201.6 hours per year effective October 6, 2010. <br />
