Easley <br />Office of the Governor <br />20301 Mail Service Center <br />Raleigh, NC 27699-0301 <br />Dear Governor Easley: <br />\\ <br /> <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners, at their April 12, 2005 regular meeting, adopted the attached <br />resolution stating that the Board of County Commissioners' oppose: <br />(1) House Bi11900 -Enhance On-Site Wastewater System Approvals and any successor versions or other <br />similar bills (i.e. Companion Senate Bi11902), which seek to remove domestic wastewater system <br />evaluation responsibility from local governments, place that authority in the private sector, and leave <br />local governments with the liability ifprivately-approved wastewater systems fail; and <br />(2) (2) Senate Bill 508 and House Bill 648, both entitled "Exempt Builder's Inventory", and the Board <br />further opposes any successor versions or other similar bills, which seek to exclude from taxation any <br />increase in value of property attributable to the subdivision of or other improvements made to property <br />by a builder as long as the builder continues to hold the property for sale. <br />Please consider the information in this Resolution and if you have any questions, please call Moses Carey, Jr., <br />Chair of the Board of County Commissioners, at (919) 929-8513. <br />Sincerely <br />Donna .Baker, CMC <br />Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners <br />www. co. orange. nc. us <br />Protecting and preserving -People, Resources, Quality of Life <br />Orange County, North Carolina -You Count! <br />(919) 245-2130 • FAX (919) 644-0246 <br />
