and assessors after the first week, the first month, and then quarterly to review the <br />-- instruments, update them where necessary, and keep abreast of issues that arise. <br />Ownership: CHICLE will release the copyright for the materials used by Orange <br />County but will retain rights to them to market or use as they see fit. <br />Qualifications: CHICLE is a five-year old language institute that provides language <br />instruction, translation and interpreter services, and cultural training in the Research <br />Triangle area. A list of organizations for whom services have been provided is <br />appended in Attachment A. In addition, Appendix B contains brief CVs of the staff who <br />will play the primary roles in this project. <br />Timetable: CHICLE proposes the following schedule for this project. <br />Nlonth l: <br />• Final discussions with Orange County staff responsible for the project <br />• 1vleeting/conversations with consultant <br />• Preliminary development of all instruments defined above <br />Month 2: <br />• Review of preliminary instruments <br />• Review by consultant <br />• Final design of instruments <br />Month 3: <br />• Scoring procedures developed and tested <br />• Final review by Orange County <br />Month 4: <br />• Training of assessors <br />• Observation of assessors by CHICLE <br />• Modifications if necessary <br />• Development of recommendations for individual advancement (to include low/no <br />cost options) <br />Month 5: <br />• Full implementation of project <br />• First follow-up meeting <br />• Development and implementation of interpreter training <br />• Modifications if necessary <br />Quarterly thereafter: <br />• Follow-up meeting <br />• Modifications if necessary <br />Annually <br />• Review and recertification of assessors (As turnover is to be expected among staff, <br />it may also be necessary to do additional training, for which CHICLE will bill <br />Orange County at an agreed upon hourly rate.) <br />4 <br />~~ <br />
