��3. <br /> County of Orange, Historic Preservation Commission Rules of Procedure, Adopted Apri122, 1992 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 The order of business may be varied by unanimous consent of the <br /> 3 members present. <br /> 4 <br /> s 3.6. Time Limits. <br /> 6 <br /> � a. The Commission may limit the length of a meeting or set a time <br /> s for adjournment by a concurring vote of a simple majority of <br /> 9 those members present. <br /> io <br /> 1 i b. The Chair may limit the time each person at a public hearing is <br /> 12 allowed to speak. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 3.7. Open Meetin�s. All regular and special meetings, public hearings, <br /> 15 records, and minutes of the Commission shall be open to the public, <br /> i 6 providedi> however, the Commission shall have the power to meet in ( <br /> 1� executive session providing appropriate procedural necessities are <br /> i s complied with as prescribed in North Carolina's Open Meeting Law, <br /> 19 N.C. General Statutes_;-G��143-318.1 to �143-318.7 (1974). The � <br /> 2 o press shall be notified by telephone or in person of special meetings at <br /> 21 least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the meeting. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 3.8. A__genda. <br /> 24 <br /> 2 5 a. The agenda for each regular or special meeting or public hearing <br /> 2 6 shall be prepared by the Secretary of the Commission, following <br /> 2� consultation with the Chair. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 b. The agenda for each meeting shall be mailed to all members no <br /> 3 0 later than five (5) days prior to the scheduled meeting or hearing, <br /> 3 i except in the case of special meetings called under Section 3.2. in <br /> 32 which the agenda will be delivered or orally transmitted, as <br /> 33 appropriate, to the members no later than forty-eight (48) hours <br /> 34 prior to the scheduled meeting or hearing. <br /> 35 <br /> 3 6 c. No business, either old or new, may be considered by the <br /> 3� Commission unless such item is approved for consideration by a <br /> 3 s majority vote of the members present. Such item shall be for <br /> 3 9 discussion purposes only, and no decision shall be made on such <br /> 4o item until a subsequent meeting. <br /> 41 <br /> 4 <br />
