<br />a -- i~ a ao s <br />A RESOLUTION HONORING JERRY WAGNER ~ l,~ <br />FOR HIS MILITARY SERVICE IN IRAQ <br />WHEREAS, Jerry Wagner has been employed by Orange County and has served as Assistant <br />Fire Marshal since November 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, Jerry Wagner serves not only Orange County but also in the United States Army as <br />a Sergeant in Battery C, 1St Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment of the 1St Infantry Division; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Wagner and his unit were mobilized and deployed for military service in <br />Iraq in Spring 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Wagner served his unit and his country through self-sacrifice and by <br />upholding the ideals of freedom and self-determination upon which our nation was founded; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Wagner carried out his duties of combat patrolling, force protection, <br />convoy security, and fire marshal with competence and courage in a hostile fire zone; anal <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Wagner and his fellow unit members returned from overseas service in <br />early 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Wagner returned safely to resume his duties as Orange County's <br />Assistant Fire Marshal in early February 2005; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />does hereby express its gratitude and appreciation to Jerry Wagner for his selfless service, <br />dedication to duty, loyalty, and bravery in representing his community and his country while <br />promoting the development of democracy in Iraq. <br />This, the 15th day of February, 2005. <br />`"\ <br />c-, a, ; I <br />~I ~ ,~ ~.~~ ~ ~ ~ ^ ~ <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Cha <br />Orange County Board; <br />Hers <br />
